Nov. 19 "Na Mele" Concert at Bishop Museum


"Na Mele No Na Lani `Eha, Songs of the Heavenly Four" is the second in the "Na Mele Music Concert Series, set for November 19 in Bishop Museum's Hawaiian Hall. The series is part of Bishop Museum's Native Hawaiian Culture & Arts Program, and is produced by Kahauanu Lake in cooperation with Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame.

Emma Veary with Nyle Hallman, harpist, and the "K Lake Singers" will present songs composed by the Royal (or Heavenly) Four, and others of the period. Dancers include Kumu Hula Alicia Smith and her daughter Pi`ilani, and "Maiki's Gracious Ladies" Momi Kepilino and Kealoha Wong. Mark and Stacy, the "Men of Kipu`upu`u", will also dance.

General admission is $55 and includes pre-concert pupus and entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in Hawaiian Hall.

This promises to be a very special one-of-a-kind evening in the tradition of Kahauanu Lake productions. E komo mai!
