Although I don't know the song, it's a been a favorite for a long time, as evidenced by this string of posts on Taropatch.com.

My father-in-law grew up in Haleiwa and loved this song. He sang it while playing his ukulele to entertain his children and the neighbors. I found the following on the Internet, which is almost exactly as he sang it, but made a few translation notes of my own for a friend in Texas who had heard it once. I hope this will help those who have heard the song before, and would love to know more about the words.

VARIOUS VERSIONS
It seems as if every performer adds or changes verses to these songs. A few variations are below: [Comment – a common characteristic in every folk tradition]

Papa works for the stevedore
Mama makes the leis
Sister goes with the Haole boy
Comes home any old time

Brother goes to the beach all day
To look at wahines in bikinis
He wears dark glasses and a coconut hat
You no can see where his eyeballs at

I want to marry this wahine [girl] I know
Her name is Haunani Ho
I told my papa and he said no
Haunani is your sister but your mama don't know

I told my mama what my papa had said
She said no hila hila
You can marry Haunani Ho
Your papa's not your papa but your papa don't know

The big question is "What does Manuela mean?" The Hawaiian dictionary says manuea means careless. Is that it?

I believe the meaning behind "Manuela Boy" is that a young man, named Manuel, angers his parents, who tell him he has no shame ("hilahila") and they're not going to give him any more money ("five cent"), that he can't live in the house anymore and that he has to go sleep in A'ala Park. At the time, A'ala Park was a kind of skid row where drunks used to hang out.
Really I think it's just a silly song with dozens of made-up verses, some funny, some kolohe (naughty).

Manuela is a "Portagee" name. The Portugese (my tutu - grandmother - included were a significant immigrant group to the islands where they worked on sugar plantations.
