Aloha, I am looking for information on how I go about getting permission the process of obtaining to use hawaiian songs from artists so we can put together for a project that we are doing. Anyone that can help us would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo, Kuuipo |

Assuming you know which song, by which artist, on which recording... Look on the album's liner notes for contact information -- either record label or distributor. Contact them and ask for help getting permissions. Sometimes this is easy (for example, you want to use Keali`i Reichel, singing one of his own compositions); usually, you will have to follow a twisted trail from singer to composer to whoever owns the rights to that composition now. |
